Subject: oh, hello

I clicked this tab that said, "contact Sufjan" and well, here I am. As I write this I am also listening to your album, Greetings From Michigan. I like it very much and am really impressed with all that you've done. The intro to your web page images the 50 States of the USA. Are you going to make an album for each state?

I am from Tucson, Arizona. Tucson is home to the Saguaro National Monument. It is a very lovely place, as is the rest of this state. There are many things to write songs about, if you choose. You may be surprised at the creative fecundity of this state.

Perhaps you will come and play a show here. I will tell all my friends to go if you do.

I really am enjoying your record and you should be proud to have made it.

Have a really really really excellent life, Sufjan.

Sincerely,

SBH

Dear Mr. SBH,

you are a sweet sweet man. We all need your faithful horns and whistles. 50 states is a lot of geography. I'm making the most of my time. I kept mispronouncing Tucson, for years, even recently. Please forgive me. Saguaro National Park will definitely be featured in the Arizona record. Arizona happens to have my favorite state flag. We used to have a huge one on our wall, when I was a kid.

best,

Sufjan

"We lash ourselves to these ideas...["that the stain of atomic blood will not wash and that its fallout is nauseating us beyond medicine..."] with burning coils of containment, massive retaliation, moon races, yellow peril, red conspiracies, in order that in the spasm of our fixed fury we do ourselves no injury, in order not to see the injury we have done, and do. So the mind tears itself apart trying to pull free."
